Who Will Get the $750 Payment?
The bonus will be provided to recipients of crucial Centrelink payments, among them being the Age Pension, Disability Support Pension, JobSeeker Payment, Youth Allowance, Parenting Payment, and Carer Payment. The recipient must have been eligible for one of these payments in a test period before July, with Services Australia automatically looking up such information through existing records to identify eligible Australians.
Why the Government Is Issuing This Bonus
Calls have arisen for strong government support because of ever-increasing costs of living in housing, groceries, and energy bills. The $750 bonus is designed to alleviate immediate financial stress on low-income individuals and families. When the Payment Will Be Made
The government has said that payments will begin to be made from mid-July 2025. If the recipient has the requisite Centrelink direct deposit arrangements in place, money will be automatically transferred into their nominated bank accounts. There is no need for a separate application; the recipient will be informed closer to the time through MyGov or SMS.
